Vision Teaching Device Appeal

Helping pupils across London to access online learning

There are over 37% or 700,000 disadvantaged children in London. Since schools have closed, it is estimated that up to 50% of children are without any form of technology to help them facilitate online learning at home, causing the gap in education standards to once again increase.

We have launched our Device Appeal in response to alarming rate of disadvantaged children that are unable to learn at home because they have no access to a laptop, kindle, iPad or other device.

We are hearing daily from schools of how their pupils are struggling with online learning due to lacking access to a suitable device

“We are a 1.5 entry school […] with over 50% of our families who are entitled to FSM. We have received 49 devices from the DFE but still have many more families who are struggling with home learning and unable to access devices. We have contacted the DFE and requested more but yet to hear back…”.

Education is the route out of poverty for many children, which is why with your help you can make a difference. At times like this we need to be grateful for staff in schools & the amazing work they do, but not even they can teach a child with a device to learn on!

The NTP funding that was put in place to help these children is irrelevant if they have nothing to learn on and just fall further behind. We truly understand that education is the route out of poverty for many children, which is why we have launched this appeal.

Devices for Pupils

Pupils and schools have been under immense pressure for the last 10 months, It is vital that we help support disadvantaged pupils with the devices they so desperately need to learn and succeed.

Our spare device recycling scheme allows people to donate unwanted or unused devices to pupils. We are using all of our networks and contacts to raise awareness and champion this cause.

We have partnered with a tech company who will clean up and wipe old devices, so we can donate them to schools as quickly as possible. To support these efforts, we have created a GoFundMe page to help raise funds and awareness online.
