A wonderful primary school in Merton is seeking an enthusiastic TA to support one of their Year 6 classes. This is a full-time role to begin from after Easter for the remainder of the academic year. For this role, you will be working alongside an experienced teacher and supporting a class of 30 children. The class is mixed ability. The school is keen for someone to come in who can raise attainment across the board.
You will be: Delivering tailored activities to children on either a 1-2-1 basis or in small groups and ensuring that the pupils you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during lessons. You will also be supporting the teacher in managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive behaviour in the class. Working alongside the class teacher to identify children who are falling behind or need additional support will be a crucial element to this role.
