SEND Teacher - SEMH

Bexley | Full-time | ASAP | Suitable for NQTs

Vision Teaching are currently supporting a very organized alternative provision located near Belvedere station, they are looking for a flexible experienced SEND teacher to join them on a 5-day week full time-basis. You will be working in shifts of 8.30am till 4/4.30pm depending on the pupil you are supporting.

In this SEND teacher role, you will be teaching a class of 6-8 pupils a range of core subjects eg. English, maths and science, some experience covering these subjects at a secondary level is essential to this role. This alternative provision has around 25 to 45 pupils aged 11- 17 in their care daily. There is a mix of pupils at risk of exclusion, not currently in education and students that attend mainstream settings as well as the alternative provision.

There are pupils also with EHCP plan and some have social service support and part of your role within the school will be to contribute towards EHCP outcomes and communicate with parents and other external support services.

Ideal candidate: • Experience with SEMH, challenging behavior, autism, and ADHD • A passion for teaching SEND pupils with a view to make a real difference • Experience with secondary and further education ages pupils • Previous alternative provision experience experience • Previous experience leading a class

Essential: • DBS on the update service or willing to apply • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) • Available 5 days a week • Available to work 8.30am till 4.30am
