SEND English Teacher

Vision Teaching are currently working with a very accomplished and established special needs secondary school based in Earlsfield. This Good Special Needs Secondary school are looking for an experienced English teacher to join them in September for the whole academic year with a possibility of a permanent contract being offered for successful candidates.

In this secondary based role, you will be teaching a class of 6-8 pupils, the pupils are in year 9 and have ADHD, , Autism and SEMH. They will expect you to spread these values in all aspects of your role.

Job description: Your role will include the following responsibilities: • To ensure all learners get the best quality of teaching possible • Having a personalised approach to your teaching, reading EHCP thoroughly to ensure maximum attainment • Working with SLT to contribute towards pupils EHCP • Liaising with speech & language therapists

• Set high expectations so that all students are inspired, motivated, and challenged to reach their full potential and in doing so meet their progress and attainment targets • Being a role model leading best practice and create a stimulating environment for pupils to learn • Provide an exciting classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils to move learning practices forward • Lead, organise and direct support staff within the classroom

• Report to parents and SLT on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils • Keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning You will have: • An enthusiastic approach that values people and encourages all to enjoy helping each other to do their best • Empathy with children and families

• Be confident in independently planning, preparing, and delivering outstanding lessons that focus on progressing students through informative and engaging class work • Passion for teaching English • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Adopt a calm and patient approach to teaching Qualification Criteria: • Qualified to teach and work in the UK to degree level or above Knowledge, Skills and Experience • DBS on the update service or willing to apply

• Previous autism, ADHD and SEMH experience • Previous experience with secondary aged pupils • High level of communication skills • Excellent behavior management skills
