Vision Teaching is currently supporting an independent specialist further education college for SEND people aged 19-25. They are looking for a Support Worker to join them in September 2021. This well-established specialist college is in Bromley, so transport links are excellent.
We are looking for an experienced support worker to add to an already accomplished team and you will be supporting young people with a range of SEND needs including physical, communication and sensory disabilities, medical conditions or autism, in addition to learning difficulties from severe to profound.
In this support worker role, you will be required to implement the Learning Through Living personalized learning, facilitating a range of communication needs and supporting students in the community and with future vocational opportunities. You will work alongside a range of services and charities.
This is a full time role and will last for the duration of the academic year. There is a range of positions available working in both a group and 1:1 session, so all types of candidates can be accommodated.
The ideal candidate will have: •Previous support worker experience •Previous SEND experience, preferably with further education pupils •Experience with PMLD, ASD and SEMH experience (not all 3 are essential but preferred) •Full time availability •A DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one •A real passion for working with young people with disabilities •A calm, caring but firm nature
